Prevention is the best insurance. That is why an insurance company like Interpolis strives to anticipate problems ahead of time. Interpolis therefore hopes to provide all its customers in the future with the new Alert4Home alarm system from its prevention collection, a product which was developed together with Alphatronics.
After passing the initial tests, a pilot project followed in which 1000 wireless Alert4Home alarm systems have been installed in and around the city of Tilburg. The Alert4Home calls upon the direct help of the local neighborhood in the event of an emergency (burglary, fire, or other threat). For example, if a resident reports intruders in the house, an SMS text message is sent to the neighbors requesting that they monitor the house for a description of the trespasser. This form of prevention has been shown to greatly enhance a sense of security in the neighborhood.
If the pilot test proves successful, the Alert4Home concept will be introduced nationwide as well as made available for people who are not insured by Interpolis.
